Dr. Zajkowski joined Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates in 1999 after completing his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1989 with a B.S. in microbiology and cell science and the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1993. In 1996, he received his M.D. from Harvard Medical School in 1996. He became board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2001.
Mark currently serves as the president of the Maine Dental Association, and has held many positions within the MDA, American Dental Association, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the examination committee for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the Pathology and Reconstruction section. Dr. Zajkowski is active in the community, serving on the active medical staff of both Maine Medical Center and Mercy Hospital, as well as serving on the Greater Portland Cleft Lip and Palate Team. He also serves as the Staff Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for the Portland Pirates, the AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres.
Dr Zajkowski's clinical interests include dentoalveolar surgery, implants, facial trauma, pathology and reconstruction, and cleft lip and palate surgery.
