Matthew Jacobsen DMD, MD
Dr. Jacobsen grew up in Marion, Massachusetts. He attended Bowdoin College
where he played football and graduated cum laude with a degree in Biology and minor in
Chemistry. Dr. Jacobsen started his dental experience at the University of Connecticut and
graduated in 2003 with several honors and distinctions in oral and maxillofacial surgery
including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Award, the Dr. Richard G.
Topazian Award in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the American College of Dentists Award.
Following his graduation from UCONN, he was accepted into the combined Harvard
University/Massachusetts General Hospital Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program.
He completed his internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 2003. He graduated from Harvard Medical School in 2006. He then completed two years of General Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. Finally, he finished his oral and maxillofacial training in 2009 during which time he served as the Chief Resident of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery division at Massachusetts General Hospital and Childrens Hospital in Boston.
He has practiced a broad scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery for the past two years in Rhode
Island and Massachusetts including dentoalveolar and implant surgery with an additional emphasis
on orthognathic, reconstructive, and TMJ surgery. When not working Matt enjoys sailing and
spending time with his family and friends.
